In the van today, I told the kids with great excitement, "Do you know whose birthday it is today?"
"Who?" with great delight, as if they could have possibly forgotten that the birthday belonged to one of them.
"Great Grandma! Do you know that today she is 90 years old?"
There were a variety of gasps and cheers in the back of the van.
Finally, somebody put words to what they were thinking, "You mean she used to be 89 years old?"
Apparently in their minds, 89 is just a bit more impressive than 90.
And, really, it does sound like a big number. But, what gets me more is to think that on this day in 1919, my Grandma was born. Wow! I can't even imagine all of the things that she has seen and lived through during her 90 years.
Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Happy Birthday to her! 90 is quite impressive. :)
Wow, Happy Birthday to your Grandma! What an amazing life she's lived, I'm sure.
Happy birthday Grandma!!
I hope Great-Grandma had a wonderful birthday today!!
We are blessed to be at my Grandma and Grandpa's house tonight visiting. It was an impromptu trip (3 hours) and much needed for all. The boys love visiting their great-grandparents (84 & 81), and I do to! It is amazing how much visiting with them refills my soul!
I hope that you are able to spend time with your Grandma as well!
