An observation during the Olympics Opening Ceremony

Well, first, I must say that after a week of doing a unit study on the Olympics, my kids were just beside themselves waiting to see the opening ceremony. We did a lot of learning throughout the ceremony, and discussed quite a bit.

At one point, I said, "So, why do you think they have 2,008 drummers?"

All of the kids looked at me.

Jack then chimed in pretty quickly, "Because there are 2,008 drums?"

I couldn't help but laugh. "Well, yes, that IS true. But, why else?"

"Oh, because it's the year 2008?" Jack then said.
